We Have Fun was created in 2019 at a truck stop in New Hampshire on Danielle and Kris’ first road trip to Salem, MA. Created on a whim, to document the road trip and to give our long-distance friends and family a way to check in with us on our travels.

After countless kilometres, toll routes, and Halloween attractions we decided to merge our love of travel and spooky stuff to create We Have Fun Inc. A way to share our stories and products with the world.

Who are we?

Danielle 

Founder + Lead Designer/Illustrator

• Grew up on a farm.
• Worked as a Designer + Illustrator in multiple industries including print publishing, fashion, and corporate finance.
• Graduated from one of Canada's leading art schools.
• Sign: Scorpio.
• Loves: doodling, food, skateboarding, spooky stuff.

Kris

Technical / Designer / Machine Whisperer

• Grew up in the city, loves living in the country.
• Worked as an information security consultant for many high profile tech companies in a challenging and rewarding career that took him all over the world.
• Self-taught college dropout.
• Sign: Cancer.
• Loves: Birds and cute critters, skateboarding, spooky stuff, travel and adventure.
• Favourite Attraction/Location (so far): TBD

How did you meet?

The short answer is "we were neighbours".

While completing her college co-op placement as a designer for a Toronto fashion boutique, Danielle spent the summer staying with a friend in the city. Kris lived next door to said friend, who was always trying to set them up. Kris invited Danielle to his 30th birthday party, and a few weeks later she asked him out for drinks. They've been inseparable ever since.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Why "We Have Fun"?

It's silly, but here we go... We got into the habit of sighing and saying "we have fun" to each other at the end of an adventure, road trip, vacation, etc. We loved sharing our adventures with our friends and families via social media, and people often commented that we should be sharing them as some type of travel blog. In August of 2019 we decided they were right.

We struggled trying to come up with a name to use, and while on a road trip to Salem, MA, we both said "we have fun" to each other, as we often did, and it was at that moment our eyes lit up, and we both realized that we had found the perfect name.

We Have Fun... Incorporated?

We decided to take a leap of faith, leave our successful careers behind, and pursue our creative passions.

Danielle founded and incorporated "We Have Fun Inc." in April 2021. We've been working together on this project since then, and have been absolutely loving it!

Instead of being apart from each other in an office or often times on the other side of the world, we decided to work together to use our creativity to bring unique, fun, and interesting products to the world. We traded our suits and blazers for coveralls, and our offices for a workshop full of creative tools.

After leaving the office during the pandemic, we decided to never return. Don't get us wrong, we enjoyed our time and gained a ton of experience while working in the corporate world, but we wanted to focus on our creative side and support other creatives in the process.

We wanted to build something that was truly ours.

We want to spend our time creating what we want, doing what we want, and loving what we do. We all should be spending our time having fun with family and friends, and enjoying life as much as we can.

We're a creative think-tank.

We design, develop, manufacture, and market our own handmade and machine-assisted products.

We offer consulting services and are open to business opportunities and partnerships.
